Becket Chambers is formed of a group of barristers in independent practice providing advice and advocacy services in specialist areas of law.
Chambers was formed in 1993 by established local and London practitioners who have since been joined by new members of the highest calibre. We have a wide range of specialisations and an expert knowledge of the Courts and Tribunals of Kent, Sussex and London.
Becket Chambers is proud of its modern, flexible, friendly approach and service. Becket Chambers arranges a programme of lectures and seminars on a variety of subjects and is an “accredited” provider for the purposes of the Law Society’s CPD scheme; please contact the Senior Clerk for details of forthcoming presentations, to arrange an in-house seminar for your firm, or to be placed on our database to receive advanced information of such events.
Chambers is located close to the Canterbury City centre and is convenient for the Canterbury Combined Law Courts and the Magistrates' Court. Chambers has a well integrated and extensive electronic library as well as the usual traditional law library, ensuring members have on-line access to all major legal databases in addition to the reference facilities offered by the Inns of Court. Chambers has dedicated Conference facilities which can be made available at short notice to clients needing urgent face to face advice. Telephone conferences are also available.
A private car park is available and arrangements can be made for disabled access for conferences.
Chambers' usual opening hours are from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays); the Senior Clerk can be contacted outside these hours by telephoning 07738 305404.
