Profile:
George joined Chambers in May 2006 following the successful completion of his twelve-month pupillage with HM Revenue & Customs.
George’s practice encompasses a broad range of civil work, acting for both claimants and defendants; he is regularly instructed in fast track and multi-track trials. He also has broad experience of employment law, from advice on prospects through to full merits hearings in the Employment Tribunal and appeal hearings in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. In addition, he has a strong niche practice in value added tax law.
George undertakes a range of family work including ancillary relief, private law children, public law children, non-molestation and occupation proceedings.
Prior to coming to the Bar, George read history at Magdalen College, Oxford. He then studied law at City University, London, graduating 6th of the 150 candidates in his year. After a year working for an educational charity in Indonesia, he returned to London and did a MA in Law and then the Bar Vocational Course. He won scholarships from Lincoln’s Inn and the Government Legal Service.
George has been appointed to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Counsel with effect from November 2007. This allows him to undertake civil advocacy and advisory work for all Government departments.
George does not accept instructions under conditional fee agreements.
