Profile:
John Bishop was called in 1970 and, after extensive
world travel, commenced practice in 1977. His practice
has covered the whole range of crime (including murder,
armed robbery, major fraud, etc.) for both prosecution
and defence. He also has a particular experience of
courts martial work for the British Army both in the
United Kingdom and abroad.
He has also maintained various civil areas of practice
- mainly commercial, contractual, building and boundary
disputes, together with some local authority and planning
work. He has appeared in every level of court from Magistrates'
to Crown and County Courts through to the High Court,
Court of Appeal and the House of Lords.
After practising for many years from Clarendon Chambers,
7 Stone Buildings, Lincoln's Inn, London (where he was
for several years Head of Chambers and still maintains
an active connection) he has joined Becket Chambers
to build on his long standing professional and personal
links with Canterbury and Kent.
