Profile:
Peter Kee joined the Treasury Solicitor's Department in 1985 where he stayed, apart from two career breaks, until 1996. He had several posts there – both in litigation and in advisory & drafting work.
Peter spent two years as an assistant public solicitor in Solomon Islands, and later spent a further two years as a provincial government legal officer in Papua New Guinea.
For the four years before joining Becket Chambers, Peter worked for the Refugee Legal Centre in London and Dover.
Peter’s practice covers a wide range of areas including general civil law and criminal law for both the defence and the prosecution. He appears in small claims, fast track and multi-track trials in civil cases and is regularly instructed in a wide range of housing law cases from disrepair to anti-social behaviour. He regularly appears in both the Magistrates' Court and the Crown Court in a wide range of criminal cases.
Peter also specialises in employment law and is instructed on behalf of both Claimants and Respondents. He has experience at all stages of proceedings particularly in cases that involve unfair dismissal or discrimination issues.
Peter appears on the Bar Public Access Directory and has been seeing clients under the Direct Public Access scheme since 2007.
